Why

An invocation to Lord Krishna, the Lord of Universe, to have mercy upon us.

Paritranaya Sadhonaam
Vinasaya chaduskritam
Dharma samsthapanarthaya
Sambha vami Yuge Yuge

For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the wicked and for the establishment of righteousness, I come into being age to age
