Buddham Saranam Gachami

I go to Buddha as my refuge

Thammam Saranam Gachami

I go to Dhamma [Lord BuddhaÕs teaching] as my refuge

Sangam Saranam Gachami

I go to Sanga [the community of those who followed Lord BuddhaÕs path] for refuge These are known as the Threefold Gem [Buddham Dhamma Sanga]

Allah hoo Akbar, Allah hoo Akbar, Allah hoo Akbar, Allah.

God is great...

Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka.
This land of mine so beautiful, rain drenched, sun-lit hills
Temples praising every God, this green and virgin land
Cool drift of the windy skies, rivers flowing free
Nature lives for everyone, listen to my plea: Sri Lanka

Darkness in the forest, the hidden silence screams
The ghost that comes and takes Sri Lanka back from me
The children are forgotten, our parents cannot see
The damage that inflicted, listen to my plea: Sri: Lanka

The bullets have no feeling, they do not have regret
For maiming innocent victims, for all the blood thatÕs let
We all have pulled the trigger to set the bullets free
That kills our virgin mother, destroying harmony: Sri Lanka

Come let us join together and heal our damaged land
Let's celebrate the joy of life, do you understand?
My brothers and my sisters, set our mother free
